All Sports Timing & Race Management and the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers are proud to present the 4th Annual Draft Day 5k!  The race will take place on Saturday, April 28 at 10:15am on the historic island of Put-in-Bay, Ohio. Whether you plan to run or walk, come race and then celebrate the NFL draft with us! Every participant will receive an Official Draft Day 5k Jersey, free lunch, drink discounts, tickets into a raffle for Cleveland Browns autographed footballs, framed and signed pictures and more! This event will benefit the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers.

Your support of this race is greatly appreciated as all proceeds from the race will go directly to the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers. The LEIBB are a non-profit organization established in 2001. This year the LEIBB donated money to local, regional and national foundations and charities including the: Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department, Put-in-Bay EMS, St. Paul's Episcopal Church Food Pantry, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Discretionary Fund,  Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary, Ottawa County "Kids for Christmas" which will put food on the table and a present under the tree for local area families in need, Put-in-Bay Arts Council, Back to the Wild, Chestnut Mountain Ranch which is a Christ-centered safe haven for boys and families in crisis located in West Virginia, the Cleveland Browns Foundation and several local scholarships that are awarded annually to graduating seniors from Put-in-Bay High School. The scholarships include the Gustav Heineman Scholarship, Ricky Dysert Scholarship, Jer-Bear & Kurt Scholarship, Jeff Verhoff Scholarship, and one $1000 scholarships from the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers.

Mr. Ed's Bar and Grille will be serving lunch to all race participants FREE of charge after the race at 11am. Please invite your friends and family to join you as lunch will be available for them at a discounted rate.

On race day (Saturday, April 28) the first Miller Ferry boat to the island is at 7:30am followed by an 8:30am and 9:00am ferry.  

If you are not staying Friday night on Put-in-Bay, we urge you to be on the 9:00am ferry (leaving Catawba, heading to Put-in-Bay) at the absolute latest in order to guarantee you arrive at the event location with ample time to get registered and stretched out for the start of the race. 

If you are not participating in the race and are only coming to the island as a spectator of the Draft Day 5k, you can get on the 9:30am ferry but will be cutting it very close if you want to see the start of the race. (IF YOU ARE RUNNING THE RACE, MAKE SURE YOU GET ON THE 7:30AM, 8:30AM OR 9AM MILLER FERRY BOAT). 

If you have not registered by April 14th, we cannot guarantee size of jersey, name on jersey, or if you will be able to receive a jersey.

There are lockers in DeRivera Park near the event location.


The top 3 male and female athletes will receive special awards.

Driving Directions To Put-in-Bay

There are numerous routes that you could drive to get to Put-in-Bay. Here is a list of some of the most common roads traveled to Miller Boat Line:

Leaving from Cleveland, Ohio:
Approximate Miles: 75
Approximate Time: 1-1.5 hours
​1)  Take the Ohio Turnpike West.  Take Exit 110 Sandusky Ohio Route 4. Turn left (North) on Route 4 to Ohio Route 2 West (Toledo). Take the               Catawba Island Route 53 North Exit and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.
2)  Or get on I-90 to Ohio Route 2 West.  Take the Catawba Island Route 53 North Exit and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.

Leaving from Toledo, Ohio:
Approximate Miles: 45
Approximate Time: 1 hour
​1)  Take the Ohio Turnpike East. Exit 91 Fremont to Route 53 North towards Port Clinton (follow all signs for route 53 North) then to Catawba Island.
2)  Or take I-90/Ohio Route 2 East to the Catawba Island Route 53 North Exit and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.

Leaving from Columbus, Ohio:
Approximate Miles: 125
Approximate Time: 2.75 hours
Take Ohio Route 23 North (High Street) to Route 98 North (Waldo Exit). In Bucyrus, Ohio merge onto Route 4 North. Route 4 will take you to Ohio Route 2 and you will turn left towards Toledo. Take the Catawba Island Exit (Route 53 North) and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.

Leaving from Dayton & Cincinnati, Ohio:
Approximate Miles: 210
Approximate Time: 3.75-4.25 hours
Take I-75 North to Ohio Route 6 East. In Fremont, turn left on Route 53 North (Fremont Rd). Follow signs for Route 53 North (left on Route 2 East) to Catawba Island Exit (53 North) for ferry dock.

Leaving from Detroit, Michigan:
Approximate Miles: 93.5
Approximate Time: 1.75 hrs
​Take I-75 South to Toledo. Take I-280 East to Ohio Route 2 East (Oregon). Take the Catawba Island Route 53 North Exit and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.

Leaving from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania:
Approximate Miles: 196
Approximate Time: 3.25 hours
Take Pennsylvania Turnpike I-76 West to Ohio. I-76 becomes Ohio I-80 (Ohio Turnpike). Take Exit 110 Sandusky Ohio Route 4, Turn left (North) on Route 4 to Ohio Route 2 West (Toledo). Take the Catawba Island Route 53 North Exit and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.

Leaving from Chicago, Illinois:
Approximate Miles: 277
Approximate Time: 4.5 hours
​Indiana Turnpike I-90 East to I-80/I-90 to Ohio Turnpike East. Exit 91 Fremont to Fremont Road North to Port Clinton.

Leaving from Indianapolis, Indiana:
Approximate Miles: 276
Approximate Time: 4.5 hours
Head north on Indiana State Route 37 to I-69 (still on SR 37) North. Take Exit 148 Angola/Lagrange and turn right on the ramp for US 20. Turn east onto US 20 and follow it for about 15 miles to Ohio State Route 49. Turn right (south) onto Route 49 to the Ohio Turnpike I-80/I-90 ramp. Follow the turnpike East to Fremont Exit 91. Take Route 53 North towards Port Clinton.  Follow signs for Route 53 North (left on Route 2 East) to Catawba Island Exit (53 North) for ferry dock.
